Data Privacy in Cloud-assisted IoT Applications

报告人照片   Dr. Fengjun Li is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Kansas. She received her Ph.D. in Information Sciences and Technology from the Pennsylvania State University. Her research interests lie in the broad area of security and privacy for distributed information systems, database systems, and communication networks. She has served on NSF panels multiple times, and served as a general chair, organizing committee member, technical program committee member, session chair, and reviewer for many international conferences and workshops. She has published over 30 refereed papers, many of them are in top computer security and networking journals and conferences. Her research has been supported by several agencies including NSF, NSA, Kansas NSF EPSCoR, and the KU Strategic Initiative Grant Program.
  Today's computing technologies and ubiquitous connectivity have led to a pervasive deployment of intelligence into our daily life, ranging from healthcare (e.g., remote patient monitoring, wearable fitness tracking) and security (e.g., community monitoring) to home automation, smart communities and smart cities (e.g., smart traffic control, distributed pollution monitoring). With more than 20 billion of devices to be connected to the Internet by 2020, the Internet of Things (IoT) materializes a vision of a future Internet that utilizes the sensorial and computing capabilities of various devices to facilitate interaction of humans with environment. However, with all devices connected and using the Internet infrastructure for data exchange, IoT and its two-way communication expose a new attack surface to adversaries, which makes it susceptible to various security and privacy attacks. In this talk, I will discuss two recent projects on practical privacy-preserving solutions for cloud-assisted IoT applications that work with large-scale, private/sensitive data
